My name is Amber and my obsession with yarn goAJYARNes way back…

I was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. That’s me in Granny’s yarn shop “Maggie’s Crochet and Knits”.

I now live in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I am married and have two little boys. We share our home with a large dog and two cats; we share our back yard with some turtles.

I have a degree in English Literature from UNLV and I’m enough of a tech geek that I manage to earn a living as a technical writer. Other professions I have practiced are kennel cleaner, data entry clerk, catering help, and professional aerobics instructor.

I have an opinion on damn near everything. Yep, “Most Outspoken” in my senior class.most outspoken

Politics is my football.

I am a diehard Raiders fan (dating from the Plunkett days).

NASCAR? Dale Jr.

I like baseball, but I’m pissed at the Isotopes, so I rarely go see games in person.

I’m a tree-hugging, falafel eating Jesus freak.

My “free pass” picks are George Clooney, Johnny Depp, and Mark Wahlberg (in that order).

Ed Harris and John Goodman are hot.

I hate my cell phone. I hate all cell phones and, despite being a tech geek, would really like to put that genie back in the bottle.

I have crocheted since I was a kid, I started dolores_croppedknitting in September 2006, and started spinning in February 2009. I am a yarnoholic.

Yes, my hair is naturally curly. No, you don’t wish you had it (trust me).
