The Mother of Invention
This morning Stinky (go figure) asked “Who invented socks?” I said “I don’t know, but whoever it was was pretty clever. They make your shoes fit better—more comfortable—and keep your feet warm.”
“Albert Einstein?”
“No, he was in the 1900s. Socks have been around since probably the 1400s or 1500s.”
“Tom Edison?”
“No, he was in the 1800s. Socks are older than that. I think whoever invented socks was way more clever than Albert Einstein or Thomas Edison.”
It was probably Cat Bordhi in one of her previous lives.

who is Cat Bordhi
I’ve provided a link. But she’s a knitting pattern designer who is known for finding unexpected, indeed previously undreamed of ways, of knitting socks. Most people start at the toe or the cuff, Cat has figured out how to start anywhere she wants and was gracious enought to write a book sharing her insights.
She sounds like your kind of person, discovering the world thru words and knitting…Thanks for the link.
